Marital Mediation Seminar

Helping Couples Maintain Their Relationship

CDSC offices, 60 Gore St, East Cambridge

CDSC is offering this seminar to mediators, lawyers and mental health professionals who are interested in learning about this relatively new field of family mediation practice. Marital Mediation offers an alternative to counseling using established mediation techniques. Many couples, married or co-habitating, want to stay together but have not been able to find effective ways of resolving their differences and are embroiled in disputes and consider divorce or separation. MM can help couples strengthen their marriage or partnership with mutually satisfying and long lasting results.

This seminar will help mediators:

  • Define how MM differs from counseling.
  • Identify couples that can benefit from MM.
  • Learn how this process helps couples create personal solutions.
  • Write contracts and set fees.
  • Review written marital agreements and post nuptials.
  • Introduce and market MM to clients, colleagues and the public.

Facilitators: Deb Filiurin, CDSC District Court Supervisor and Cynthia Runge, CDSC Coordinator of Court & Divorce Services
Panel Discussion with John Fiske, Jeanne Cleary and Beryl Minkle
Power Point created by Laurie Israel
